Sri Vaikundavasa Perumal temple

The twin temple seen along with the Shiva temple at Koyambedu. The deity is installed in a standing posture along with his consorts sridevi and Bhoo devi. The temple is renowned for its beautiful images of Seetha and Rama.
The main entrance of the temple features several beautiful Dashavataram  images.

The temple has separate shrines dedicated to Kanakavalli Thayar and Andal It is believed that the deity was worshipped by Sage Valmiki, Lava and Kusha.
The Moolavar idols of the Lord and His Consorts here are in the standing posture. The Utsavar is known as Azhagiasingar and there is an unconfirmed report that the Thelliyasingar deity in the Parthasarathy Temple at Thiruvallikeni, was kept here during the alien invasion .

The Utsavar is found flanked on either side by Sridevi and Bhoodevi.The temple is famous for its beautiful images of Sita and Rama. While Rama is found wearing a dress made from tree bark and is without a crown as he was found when he spent 14 years in the forest, the image of Sita is like that of any ordinary woman with her hairdo in what is known as "Kodali Kondai" as she stayed in Valmiki's Ashram. The holy water source is called as the Kusa-Lava Theertham and the "sthala vriksham" is the pipal tree. There is an ancient manuscript of the Ramayana in Telugu letters and its title is Vaithya Ramayanam and it is well preserved.
 History of the Temple:
After ascending the throne in Ayodhya, Sri Rama came to know that some of his subordinates that bad SITA fidelity, and immediately ordered him sent into the woods while she was pregnant. The mother was treated Sage Valmiki, where she gave birth to the twins Lava and Kucha.
During this time, Lord Sri Rama led the Aswametha Yaga. Le Cheval dedicated to laundry Kucha Yaga is reached. Captured horse. Satrugna, the younger brother of Lord Rama asked the children to free the horses. They refused. In the war that followed, the boys defeated Satrugna. Even Lakshmana release came after the horse was beaten by Lava and Kucha. Surprised Lord Rama sent a messenger to invite the sage Valmiki forest, Sita and children. Sita was very happy to see their Lord again.
Sage Valmiki told the story to the boys that their father was Lord Rama and the circumstances that caused the separation. Sage Valmiki prayed for forgiveness from Rama to his disciple boys. Given darshan to Lord Rama as Vaikundavasa Sage. As requested by Sage, the Lord remained there that Vaikundavasa there.
All about the Temple
When the Lord Sri Rama took Sita to Ayodhya, the mother thought she came to this place, and his Lord Rama was in his eyes, and therefore the place is named Raghavapuri. To support the Sage Valmiki stay here, there is a nest in the temple prakara. Kurungaleeswarar Lord, adored by Lava-Kucha is nearby. Those who suffer from anger ancestors advised to worship the Lord Shiva and Vishnu of two in the temple, bathe Kuchalava Theertha, perform puja and tarpan for the ancestors. The name of the place of history Koyambedu washing Kucha attached cow, horse Sri Rama with Ayam (iron) Closing – Ko-Ayam-Pedu. Ayam is an iron fence and Pedu. Saint Arunagiriar have described this place as Kosai Nagar in Tirupugazh.
